This movie tells about a ghostwriter acted by Ewan Mcgregor, that was hired by a former British prime minister Adam Lang, acted by Pierce Brosnan. The ghostwriter was asked to complete the memoirs of the prime minister. The ghostwriter felt the challenge in that offer, so he accepted to write for him. At the first time he started writing the memoir, he got some odd unfortunately events. 

It was started from the death of Lang’s aide. The ghostwriter decided to go out to the town to finish his writing in a private cottage because he needed serenity. Then, Lang was accused for approving unlawfully abduction of suspected terrorist by CIA. It suddenly made the ghostwriter curios. He wanted to know what exactly happened. He uncovers the mystery while he was working on his writing by clues that was given by the previous writer.
